Rejecting the honours bestowed by the monarchy

Dear students,

   in the last lesson we got to know a great variety of people who all have/had to do with the British Empire. Their personal views differed greatly. Today I would like you to meet two more people who tell us, why they do reject the honour of being bestowed with the prestigious OBE award.

Your task is to read the newspaper articles in detail and to work out why people have decided to reject the award.
Take notes and be prepapred to give a mini-presentation in the next lesson about your findings. Due to this, it might be very helpful to bring your findings also to class.
